O CHRISTMAS TREE

or at least that's what they're supposed to be...oops...sorry...should be writing a post...not singing...

so....am i the only one that never seems to use things for their intended purpose?...i mean...i'm pretty sure that when martha stewart whipped up these felt pennants....

that she wasn't thinking trees for christmas cards!...lol...well...sorry martha...but that's what i used 'em for!....

but i did manage to use this stamp sentiment from papertrey ink the correct way....i'm not a total loose cannon!...

yeah...my card my might on the simple side...but it doesn't need to be complicated to get my message across...which is wishing everyone a merry christmas!....

ALL THAT GLITTERS...MINUS THE MESS

so...are you like me?...you heart all things glittery...but hate it being all over you?...you know....looking like you're about ready to hit the clubs...well...here's some ornies that have all the sparkle...but none of the mess...

i so wish i could claim this idea as mine own...because it's pure genius!...but i can't!...insert sad face here...actually came across it on everyday cricut...these make the best gifties!...why?...because they're so dang purty!...sorry...my west virginia is showing...lol...

the trick?...the glitter's on the inside!...that's right!...oh...and did i mention how freaking easy they are to make?...well...keep reading....and you'll find out for yourself!....

you'll need some pledge with future shine floor wax...you read that correctly...lol...i got mine from walmart...now...it's very important that you get this bottle with the blue cap...not sure if it'll work with just any kind of floor wax....glitter...it needs to be fine stuff...i've found that martha stewart's works the best...some clear glass ornies...cotton swabs....and i "borrowed" some paper cones from my work...they make the best funnels!...

pop all the hangers out of the glass ornies....

do 'em all...

squirt some of the floor wax into the ornie....

swirl it around to coat the inside...it's best not to shake...you don't want any "froth" in there....

take of the cap of the floor wax...and let all the extra drain out...hee hee...kinda looks like a person...

if you have any bubbles in the ornie...you can take a cotton swab to get 'em out...i used to put my pinkie in there...until it got caught like a fish hook...did that freaking hurt!...so...use the cotton swabs...your fingers will thank you...

take your paper cone...and snip the top off...if you don't have any of these...just cut the corner off an envelope...and snip the tip of it...voila...instant funnel!...

insert the funnel...and start adding the glitter!...it's best to put a bunch in...don't worry...you're actually using just a small amount...but you want to make sure you have enough to coat the inside...

start rolling the ornie around...the glitter will start to coat the inside...

put your finger over the opening...and start to shake the glitter....this will get the neck of the ornie...and any other bare spots...

take the lid off your glitter container...and place the ornie neck in there...all the glitter will start to run back in the jar...you can lighty tap on it...to make sure all the loose stuff comes out...

plop those toppers back in!...

and there ya go!...one ornie that glitters without all the mess!....

i usually do up a whole set for gifties...they're just too pretty to break up!...

but if you do want to give 'em individually...how 'bout clear take out boxes? ...you can nestle one in a bed of eco friendly packaging(ummm...mine's straight from the paper shredder!)...

or...tie a little ribbon and adhere with a glue dot...then display on a brass ornie hanger...got this one at michael's!...

of course...you can personalize by adding vinyl or paint pens...but i like to keep 'em simple!...

READY FOR A SN"OAP"BALL FIGHT?

so...joy over at joy's life asked me to join along in a thank you gift blog hop....and of course i said yes!...there's a ton of us gals that are sharing our ideas for some goodies for those special people in our lives!...so when you've had your fill of the crafterole...head on over to cricut my way and see what denise has up her creative sleeve!...but don't go without seeing what i gots to offer first!...lol...

'tis the season for the white stuff!...no...i'm not talking dandruff...i'm talking snow!...but not everyone's as lucky as us in west virginia to get it...so...i've thought up a little something for you warm weather gals!....how about some sn"oap"balls?...yeah...i totally made up that word!...lol...

you'll need to grab a grater and some soap...now...this is stuff that i melted and scented myself...but you could totally do this with store bought soap!...

just start grating!...don't get your fingers in there...we don't want bloody snowballs!...

this is what 3 bars of soap looks like all grated....

these are the leftover bits that were too tiny to shred....don't throw 'em out!....this will be the start of your sn"oap"ball....

just press and roll into a small ball...

now...you'll want to grab some of the shredded soap...

add that to your ball and start pressing and forming a bigger ball...the soap that i used had some moisture in it...so it adhered great...but if the flakes are a little dry...just wet your hands...and then staring forming...

see...it got bigger!...

grab some more shredded soap...and add that to your exsisting ball...

got bigger!...are you seeing a pattern here?...lol...

let's grab one more handful...you know what do with it!...

wowser...look at that sn"oap"ball!...now you'll want to set it aside and let harden for a while!...

when all done...you can package 'er up!...i did up these little clear boxes and topped off with some cutie snowman ribbon...now how much fun are these?...

well...thanks for hopping by!...hope you had fun over here at the crafterole!...and make sure you go see denise over at cricut my way!...

GLAM UP THOSE GLOVES!

so...around here...it's getting a little cripsy outside...which means the gloves are coming out!...but if yours are like mine...they're a bit on the boring side...well...they don't have to stay that way!...just take some stretchy gloves (at wallymart you can get these 2 for $1.60!) and plop some bling on 'em!...

now these would be perfect for the single ladies!...because now they'll have a ring on it!...lol...the glam on these were earrings that i picked up at target...i snipped the post off...then used some fabri tac to adhere to the glove...

since right hand rings are big now...had to do some gloves to match the trend!....the glam on these started out as a pendant that i picked up at michael's...i snipped off the loopy thingie and used the fabri tac again...

now that's how you glam up your gloves!...and you didn't spend the big bucks on 'em either!...

HO HO HO HANDSCRUB

so...giftie season is here!...and if you're like me...you gotta do 'em on the cheap this year...but don't let the quantity of money affect the quality of the gift...how 'bout whipping up some homemade sugar hand scrub?...

this stuff is beyond fantabulous!...it gives you the most yummy smelliest (was that even english?...lol) softest hands...i would say baby's bottom soft...but that kinda sounds a little like butt hands...and that's not a good selling point!...lol...

anywho...this is the easiest stuff to make...plus, i betcha have all the ingredients ready to go...all two of 'em!...well...what are we waiting for?...lol...

grab some sugar...a knife...and dish detergent...yeah...you read that correctly!....i like to use the stuff with oil of olay aka great for your skin...plus...it smells like pomegranate...yummers!...

ok...this might be the only thing you'll have to buy...i got these 8 oz jelly jars at walmart...but you can use any kind of container that you have on hand...a great way to recycle some of those jars!...

fill the jar almost to the top with sugar...

then start adding the dish detergent...just a layer of it...you're not going to fill up the jar...

then take your knife and start stirring!...why a knife?...it's a little tricky getting a spoon in there without the sugar going everywhere...i don't know this for sure...i've just heard...lol...wink wink...

keep going...

all done!...

now sometimes you have add either more sugar or more dish detergent...to get the right consistancy...you don't want it too runny or too thick...

add your label and lid and your ready for gifting!...

the only thing that can be easier than making it...is the packaging!....i grabbed a fab silk poinsettia and slapped a magnet on the back...

then plopped on top!...plus...it's a gift in a gift!...now who wouldn't love this?...
